Roddy hell

ANDY MURRAY was dumped out of Wimbledon by Andy Roddick last night to break the hearts of a nation.
The American won a thrilling semi-final 6-4 4-6 7-6 7-6 as Britain’s 73-year wait for a men’s champ at SW19 continued.
Murray, who was aiming to follow in the footsteps of Fred Perry, said: “It’s disappointing to lose but I still thought I played well.
“If you look at the stats, I hit more winners, less unforced errors and more aces. I’m sure the points we won were very, very similar.
“It just came down to a few points here or there on his serve. And he served really, really well – very close to the lines. Sometimes there’s not a lot you can do when someone serves like that.
“I had a pretty good record against him going into this match. But if someone serves 130mph consistently throughout the match with around 75 to 80 per cent first serves, it’s very tough to break them – especially on a court like this that is so quick.
“I obviously put pressure on myself to play well. I don’t think there were any moments where I felt too tight to sort of go for shots.
“I maybe made a couple of mistakes that I shouldn’t have in the first tie-break.
“But I will still go away and look at a few things. I will continue to work hard and look to become a better player.”
Fellow Brit Tim Henman, a four-time semi-final loser, said: “I have to sympathise with Andy. It is a devastating feeling to lose at this stage.
“Maybe he could have, or should have, won the match.
“But you have to give Roddick some credit as his serve was phenomenal.”
