Attack on handball players in a disco in Hungary-Sesum injured while attempting to save his team mate’s life


Vesprem – Serbia national team handball player Zarko Sesum (23) has been injured in an attack that happened at night between Saturday and Sunday in a disco in a town of Vesprem in the west of Hungary. His team mate, a Romanian Marijan Kozma (26) was killed and another team mate, a Croatian Ivan Pesic (19) heavily stabbed.
The attackers are unknown.
Sesum suffered cheekbone fracture. He underwent surgery and his life is not at threat. One kidney had to be removed from Pesic and his condition is still serious. Kozma died on the scene of the crime from a knife stab into his heart. The handball players were celebrating birth of a son of one of their team mates. Zarko Sesun was hit while he was trying to pull out Kozma’s tongue from his windpipe. Hungarian Home Minister and Minister of Sports requested from the police to find the perpetrators urgently and give detailed information over the tragic event. Unofficial sources say that the cause of tragedy was conflict between two gangs dealing drugs and are racketeering owners of cafes, discos restaurants and similar.
