Break in Tel Aviv!!!

The Black and Whites managed to snatch fabulous away victory against Maccabi Tel Aviv, beating the Euroleague Top 8 rival 77:85 in a thriller match with unexpected twist!

The start of the match was marked by quick plays with lots of rushed possessions which resulted in many turnovers on both sides and after three minute of play the score was 2:3. Then, hosts make a double-triple combo while the Black and White guys could not score on the other end of the court which resulted in an 8:0 run from the guys in yellow jerseys and Vujošević called time-out. Kecman tried to wake up his teammates with two consecutive three point shots while Pnini was unmistakeable on the other side 16:9. Maccabi team continuously played well defensively and scored on almost every possession for supposedly insurmountable lead after the first quarter of 27:12.

The second quarter started with a 7:1 run from Maccabi and BC Partizan players found it quite hard to score in those moments. However, Kecman, who was fantastic tonight, shouted out another wake up call for his fellows for 36:18. The guys from Belgrade then started playing more aggressive and tamed Israeli a bit for 41:29. Yet, whatever they did they could not go under a double digit lead the host sovereignly held and only Đekić scored a buzzer for 46:32 at the half.

Vesely opened the second half with a three pointer and Marić connected from the free throw line for 46:37. Defense worked much better and then skipper Božić hit a triple for 53:42. ‘The Steam Runner’ then put an 8:0 run and managed to get into the decisive quarter with an acceptable deficit of eight at 66:58.

The unbelievable Black and Whites opened the final and decisive quarter in a manner of champions they are; Rašić skims from 6.25m line, and Roberts hits another triple for 66:64. Then, after a scoreless period on both sides, Robert hits another triple and Kecman extends the series of three point shots for 70:67 but Perkins scored for Maccabi and the score was even again 70:70. The audience at Nokia Arena sew a nervous see-saw of the scoreline for a couple of minutes when Partizan players put on a little more weight on their side for 75:79. The hosts had possession at 27 second until the final buzzer 77:79, the Black and White defend and McCalebb was correct from the line for 77:81 after being fouled on, and then Milošević, too, for 77:83 while the final score of 77:85 was set by young Mitrovic also from the line.
The Black and Whites made a break in Tel Aviv and started the Euroleague quarter-final series with a win.
