Want to Break Ankles?!? — Chase’s Crossover Dribble Blog — How to Shoot a Basketball
Have you ever wondered how to cross your defender over so hard that you break his ankles? www.shotscience.com This week Chase discusses how to properly execute a crossover dribble, which if executed correctly is nearly indefensible. Just so you know, there are many more ball handling videos coming and, of course, tons more videos on all things basketball!! We look forward to all of your comments! Thanks so much for all the support! We’d love to get a video response from one of you! See you next week!! Be sure to check out our website: www.shotscience.com and Chase’s site www.shotscience.com -Tom

@DwyaneWadeCounty: Hey DWC, you are an observant player. In actuality the cross-overs you see are the same, just executed by different players. Most of the examples you see in this video are of Chase Curtiss, an All-American guard at UPS. He learned to execute this cross by keeping the cross-over “low and quick” to avoid the carry. Reason, so that the ball gets from one side to the other explosively and below the reach of the defender. Hey, thanks for your comment.
Here’s an example.

Did you noticed how different the killer crossover is from yours?
Good video about the crossover, ShotScience. But there’s just one problem. The crossover that Chase is doing(1:18-2:04) isn’t the same crossover as the player from 0:52 is doing. Neither, it’s the same crossover that Wade, Iverson, or Francis are known for. When they perform the move, it’s usually a carry. But it’s almost impossible to carry the ball when doing your crossover.
@thetictac100: Our pleasure. Stay tuned for more.
thanks
@Ekam121: No days off!! Dribbling actually will be good to stretch the muscles and help get rid of the lactic acid. Stay on the ball handling.
i workout upper body 2 times a week, so i probably should not practice dribbling everyday so my body can recover. should i take 1 day off a week or 2?
@xbxjkz; Yes he did! You are really perceptive. Try it. You will like it!
@TheYoungking3: How cool is that? Glad we could help you out. Stay tuned there is more coming. “Spread the Word.”
at 3:13 did he use the hammer?

thank you so much! i’ve been struggling with crossovers for few weeks.
im not really quick compare to my size, and had few turnovers from my slow-crossovers.
by seeing this video i realized i was lacking the “below knee” n “push” in the end.i will start making good use of this video from tomorrow.

redeye: It’s almost impossible for us to be able to help you unless we can see what your problem is. Please send us a video of yourself shooting the ball. We will be waiting for it.

db: “Break them ankles!” Let us know how it works out.
sh4: It does look easy! The best thing to do is to continue working on this move against other players until you can work out the execution. We almost never can immediately be successful at this move or any other until we have practiced it a ton. Chase worked on this move and others almost all summer to get it down. Just remember, it will take time to get it down. Don’t quit on it because it it truly “an ankle breaker.” Let us know how it goes for you.
man im having alot of problems , i cant crossover i mean u guyz make it luk soooo EZ but when ur one on one with the guy its a whole different thing please respond and make a much more specific vid even though this is still amazing
Great video! Hopefully this will work for me this weekend. My old crossover didn’t work at all. I’ve been working on this for the past 2 weeks. Hopefully ill break some ankles at my state tournament this weekend.
