Allen Iverson 23pt vs Kobe Bryant Lakers 09/10 NBA *third quarter reminiscent of 2001 Finals
AI vs. Kobe delivered the throwback duel fans paid to see. Just like in the 2001 NBA Finals, Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers topped Allen Iverson’s Philadelphia 76ers. Bryant roused the 20000 fans who came to jeer him as much as they did to root on the 76ers, scoring 24 points to lead Los Angeles to a 99-91 win over Philadelphia on Friday night. “It was a like a trip down memory lane for me,” Bryant said. “It was exciting.” Bryant always packs the Wachovia Center when he makes his yearly visit to his old stomping grounds. He rarely disappoints in putting on a show for the fans who boo his every touch yet line the court to snap countless photos. While Bryant is still in his prime, Iverson is in a steady decline. Lakers coach Phil Jackson said the All-Star showdown misses some of the buzz of years past when both could make the argument they were tops at their position. Don’t tell Iverson. He crossed-over and crashed his way toward a season-high 23 points. Iverson and Bryant are responsible for Philadelphia’s only two sellouts this season. Iverson’s first game back in Philadelphia drew 20664, and Bryant helped draw 20809 on Friday. Bryant led Lower Merion High School to a state championship in 1996 and visited his old school on Thursday. He said this year’s homecoming was the first time he ever felt goosebumps when he was introduced from Lower Merion High. “I think because when you get older, you get more and more nostalgic,” the 31-year-old Bryant said. “You start reminiscing …

pennyccw, reminds me of why I like basketball, along with all the fancy dunks. If you can’t dunk yet, you GOTTA start practicing. I definitely advise you to try the one I’m using – 50inch vertical[dot]com – I m 5 7 and I can dunk!

well lets hope not
its saying that is how it use to be
Iverson makes 8 shots out of 19.5 attempts.
this was recent ? it says 2001, idk , and allen iverson vs kobe has always been a good match up, i jus wish iverson was still a great bball player , i mean .. his dreams of winning a champpionship .. r gone
watching allen iverson and kobe bryant vs eahother is way better then watching kobe and lebron, wade or melo
the lakers ruined A.i’s dream
he always plays good against them
Man, Iverson has a tough road ahead of him. I certainly hope he comes back, all the media does is dog him, and it’s a damn shame. He’s made his own mistakes, but he’s owned up to them, now it’s time to get over these things that have him, and go win a fucking championship!!
he still has it he needs time to get his body and mind right plus his daughters sick
@DavNguyen
Yes thank you – Iverson always looked badass in that black with the sleeve – its my image of him always
I remember watching this.
AI was on fire…
This may have been AI’s last good game
@bballmemories – he has no first step or lift going left with that arthritic knee. he messed up sitting the whole summer. Hopefully if things get better for his family he’ll hire a personal trainer over the summer and get right.
When Allen goes left, he’ll pull up. When he goes right, he’ll drive all the way. Sad to see his skills diminish right before our eyes.
penny henry abbott on espn linked to this video. you’re awesome
6.00 allen iverson crosses shannon brown
nah there old school
Vintage AI! props on the Vids too
lol @3:40 dude better chill but he get shot
Amazing Move and Shot @ 5:35
AI played better than Kobe in this
game. They both made 10 shots BUT AL,LEN IVERSON TOOK 4 LESS SHOTS AND KOBE STILL ONLY HAD 1 MORE POINT THAN IVERSON.
If Allen Iverson would have take as much shots, he would have had more points.
They need to bring back the 2001 jerseys. The jerseys they have now are ugly.
