Michael Jordan 1986 Playoffs: 63pts, Gm 2 Vs. Celtics
MJ’s 1st 50+pt game is this Legendary Game. It’s still the playoff record and is ranked 3rd in the book “Michael Jordan’s Top 50 Games”. NBA Sophomore MJ was just 23 years old but he would show the world in just his 6th playoff game that there would never be another player like him again. This Celtics team was considered perhaps the greatest team ever. Having won 67 games, 40-1 at home, 31 straight at home and on a 14 win streak, MJ single-handedly almost dismantled them. After scoring 49 points in Game 1 (which I also have up on youtube), McHale said, “That will never happen again.” The Celtics went back and brainstormed to stop MJ and came back to hold MJ to 63. At times, putting 4-5 bodies on Jordan, Jordan was well, still Jordan. MJ missed 64 games in the regular season with a broken foot and returned just 6 weeks earlier but in this game, the legend of Michael Jordan was born. Scoring on vicious attacks, athletic jumpers from everywhere and finesse and power moves all at once, MJ displayed an intensity to win and take the entire Boston Team all by himself. It was chilling to watch. Scaring the guts out of the Champion Celtics in their unbeatable home court, MJ played a game that still stands as the greatest post-season record of all-time with 63 points. The only quote you need to remember is Bird saying, “That was God disguised as Michael Jordan. He’s the most awesome player I’ve ever seen…he was getting his points in the flow of the game…scary.” Celtics coach KC …

WTF was Orlando Woolridge doing taking that last shot?
why does some chump….in this case woolridge have to take the last shot. this is crazy
Legendary performance!
I loved the part when he took larry bird to school
hoopsencyclopedia, reminds me of why I watch basketball, along with all the crossovers. If you can’t dunk yet, you have to start practicing. I definitely advise you to try the program I’m using – “50inch vertical (dot) com” – I m 5 7 and I can dunk!
hoopsencyclopedia I am an awesome 5’6 black dude and I can easily dunk easily. Anyone can do it, just use the right workout. I personally used the one at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | but any training plan is good if they work that is… lol
Michael Jordan 1986 Playoffs: 63pts, Gm 2 Vs. Celtics
All time greatest list
1) jordan
2) jordan
3 jordan
4) anyone you like
hoopsencyclopedia seriously if I, could dunk, then anyone can, I’m simply 5’7 seriously! Just simply be dedicated to a working jump course like the one over at “50inch vertical (dot) com”, it will help to increase your leaping ability and your basketball skills.
clutch free throws at the end
To even put LEbron in the same breathe with mj is crazy. What has Lebron done to merit that honor. The only hardware he has is regul
ar season awards or exhibition (All Star game). Yeah it impressive that he can avg 30 8 and 8 but those numbers mean nothing without post season success. Kobe is the best player in the league today. How is it that Lebron can be passed the torch without a championship.
hoopsencyclopedia, reminds me of why I like basketball, along with all the bloopers. If you can’t dunk yet, you GOTTA start practicing. I definitely recommend you to try the program I’m using – “50inch vertical (dot) com” – I m 5 7 and I can dunk!
@idiyamin7 HAHAHAHAHAAA YOU LOSE!!!!!!!!! nice try in this debate, but unfortunately you lose bitch.
JORDAN aka the GOAT – 6 rings lebron aka the CHOKER – big fat ZERO
hoopsencyclopedia, many times I try to remind myself of just what exactly it was like before I could possibly dunk in bball. After I put to use the training course program at “50inch vertical (dot) com” – my game has been increasing dramatically – no longer am I on the bench every game!
i thought i was arguing with an adult but every time u reply u resort to foul language an name calling. what adult needs name calling to articulate a point? i realize that u r probably under 18 & do not have enough b ball knowledge for an intelligent discussion as evident by your rebuttals good day and godbless u i hope u grow up.
@idiyamin7 you claim that lebron is a better defensive player, but has he ever won defensive player of the year? HELL NO!!!!!! Do you even know what hand checking is? Or are your diapers too tight that it cuts off the circulation to the ball of mush you call a brain. Lebron sucks at shooting, sucks at dribbling, sucks at passing, and face it Jordan owns him. Jordan is so good that lebron wants to be like him, like stealing the number 23. Lebron is a fake, a copier & a poser.
Lebron= 0 rings
@idiyamin7 do you get your facts from your ass? because it sure sounds like it. i am not talking about a single season FG%, im talking about a career span you fucking idiot, which is a lot harder to do. Jordan once made 6 three pointers in a row during the finals. Has lebron done that? NO! Jordan is a 9 time 1st defensive team, does lebron have that many? NO!! I’m glad your fag daddy told you about the jordan rules. There are no “lebron rules” because hes too much of a pussy to handle that
@ilovefrankandbeans jordan only averaged two 3point attempts per game so clearly he was a slasher with a good medium range j while lebron averages four 3pt attempts per game & shoots a higher 3pt %.lebron is already a better passer, rebounder, ball handler, court vision, facilitator, & 1on 1 defender than mike ever was. mike was a great team defender but when it was time to guard the great scorers they gave it to scottie while lebron is routinely ask to guard the best scorer& score himself
@ilovefrankandbeans u heard your dad say “jordan rules” & u think u know a basketball term lol it simply means foul mike as hard as possible when he gets into the lane so stop referring to it like your some basketball guru like hubey brown. lerbon shoots the highest fg% of any wing scorer post jordan era. despite playing with shaq in his prime kobe never sniffed 50% yet lebron routinely shoots over 48% & shot 50 this year.
@idiyamin7 MJ has a .497 FG career %, the highest ever in the NBA . Ever heard of the fade-away shot, yeah MJ invented that. MJ has the highest scoring average of 30.1 ppg. You can’t reach that by only being a slasher. Everything was harder before, because hand-checking was allowed back then. There was also the “jordan rules,” Look up the jordan rules so that you can educate your dumbass.
HAHA my IQ is way higher than yours! Lebron sucks, he can’t shoot for shit and hes a fucking loser/choker
@ilovefrankandbeans again you show your poor basketball iq because all the things u mentioned are a benefit for guys who slash to the rim. if u cant play zone and must guard people 1 on 1 then a superior athlete with descent ball handling can blow by his defender and finish at the rim. thats why jordan was able to shoot such a high percentage. todays game is much harder on slashers cuz guys can crowd the pain& make u shoot jumpers 1st. no doubt lebron would be even better during jordans era
@ilovefrankandbeans again u have0 perspective& 0 basketball iq. every generation has its player. there r middle age men today that will swear oscar is the best or Russell is the best ever & how could u argue with either statistically for big o or ring wise for Russell. u watch youtube clips& buy his shoes& u think he walks on water. no player is bigger than the game& there will always b some1 who comes along& eclipses his reign.lebron is 25& already better than jordan on most aspects of the gm.
@idiyamin7 You use the term GOAT as if its a toy. Use the term wisely, because there is a big difference between a great player and the GOAT. lebron is a great player i’ll give him that, but he is no MJ. There will never be a better player than mike. MJ is the GOAT. Also don’t talk about my basketball IQ because i could easily murder you in that department. I don’t hate lebron, I am just here to shut your pie hole you call a mouth. Work on your grammatical skills because i cant understand you!!
hoopsencyclopedia, many times I attempt to recall just what it was like before I could dunk the ball. Just after I used the training course system at 50 inch vertical (dot) com – my skills has been improving dramatically – no longer am I on the bench every game!
@ilovefrankandbeans lol only player besides osacr, jordan and now ty evan to avg 20/5/5/ in their first season. youngest to reach so many different scoring plateaus.also i was talking to the guy who say jordan was already mentioned with the greats after his first few season so i said lebron would be2 if he retired now not that he would be the goat if he retired now. u are a mj fanatic with no perspective or basketball iq. u r watching greatest&if u hate lj then the next decade is gonna b hell 4u.
@idiyamin7 no i am the one trying to bring YOU back to earth. You said that “lebron could retire right now and he would go down as top ever.” Now how is that possible when lebron has no rings? do you understand? Let me remind you that lebron didn’t do shit in his first few years! Lebron also had the benefit of learning from kobe’s and garnett’s mistakes. If lebron was the first out of high school player ever, then that would be impressive, but hes not! You must be 13, because you dont know shit
@ilovefrankandbeans your the1 attempting to deify jordan so i had to bring u back to earth that this was a flawed man. tell me this how many players in the history of this league could come into the league at 18 with the weight of the world on his shoulders and perform like he has. not kobe, garnett, or mcgrady did or could do that. Even michael said he needed those 3yr at unc&there was no way he could have come in after high school. u r a foolish man2 not recognize greatness he will b THE GOAT.
