Heat burns Celtics, 115-107

MIAMI, Florida — Rookie guard Norris Cole of the Miami Heat scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the struggling Boston Celtics, 115-107, Tuesday night at the American Airlines Arena.
After demolishing the defending champions the Dallas Mavericks in the Christmas day opener, the Miami Heat continued their savage attack by defeating one of the best teams in the NBA, the Celtics.
LeBron James once again led the Heat with 26 points, Dwayne Wade also had an excellent night with 24 points and eight assists while Chris Bosh had a double double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Boston’s 24 turnovers was 33 points for Miami. The Celtics squad is also incomplete because their team captain Paul Pierce is still recovering from his injury and Chris Wilcox who injured his left shoulder in the second quarter did not return to play.
Ray Allen led the way for Boston and he scored 28 points for 8 of 12 shooting including 6 of 8 three pointers. Rajon Rondo who had a very excellent game in the opener against the New York Knicks showcased his passing skills with 12 dishes and had 22 points in the game, he also grabbed eight rebounds beating the big man of the Celtics. Brandon Bass provided 13 points off the bench and Kevin Garnett added 12.
The Celtics had a great run in the final minutes of the fourth quarter as they close the gap with only three points 108-105. However, Cole’s effort in sinking every ball he receives has become the key to the Heat’s victory.
The Heat will meet with the Carlotte Bobcats next and the Celtics will try to bounce back against the newly formed New Orleans.
