LA Galaxy visits the Philippines

The Philippine national football team or popularly known in the country by the name of Azkals, will face one of the most eminent and illustrious soccer team in Major League Soccer (MLS), a professional football team in the USA which is the L.A. Galaxy. The Galaxy will be spearheaded by one of the most notable player in the football world in the name of David Beckham. Beckham may not be as dominant today compared to his early years; however, he still possessed a charisma that will make every football fan in the world jump out of their seats. Coming along with Beckham to play in the exhibition match against the Azkals at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on December 3, 2011 are his teammates Landon Donovan, the club’s team captain, Robbie Keane, Chad Barrett and other members of the club.
It’s been a year since the Azkals registered a historic win in the group stage of the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup against the defending champion Vietnam and the team never bunged up because they brought their winning formulas in other tournaments like the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup Qualifying Tournament where the team qualified and in the 2014 AFC World Cup Qualifying Tournament where they failed to qualify. Ever since their unprecedented and exemplary run, members of the team enjoyed a godlike treatment not only from the medias but also from the people most especially the football fans in the country. No doubt that the Azkals resurrected the spirit of football in the country and they also opened the way for many local and international companies and organizations to conduct football clinics and organize football tournaments in the different places in the Philippines. And now, through the initiative of the Philippine Football Federation of inviting the L.A. Galaxy to play an exhibition match in the Philippines against the Azkals, Filipino football fans will surely end their year with a bang. The Philippine Azkals will heavily rely on their Fil-foreign players particularly the Younghusband brothers, their number one goalie, Neil Etheridge, Stephan Schrock, Emilio “Chieffy” Caligdong and others.
The head-to-head battle of the L.A. Galaxy and the Philippine Azkals will be part of the Galaxy’s Asia-Pacific tour. They will then proceed to Australia to face the Melbourne Victory, a professional football club in Australian League on December 6, 2011. Organizers of the match announced that ticket price will start from P2,000 which is the cheapest and will go up to P15,000 which is the priciest.
