Nuggets hands Heat’s fourth loss

DENVER, Colorado — The battle of the two of the most high scoring teams in the NBA today the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat is won by the Nuggets at home, 117-104, Friday night at the Pepsi Center.
Ty Lawson led the Nuggets with his 24 points for 9 of 11 shooting and nine assists. He was in a very good shape in the start and was really good in defending Dwayne Wade.
“It’s just a little added motivation playing against one of the best teams in the league, especially all the press they’ve been getting. I just wanted to come out and show a good game,” said Lawson.
Nene also had a double double for Denver as he poured in 17 points and grabs 12 boards. The Nuggets also had a great support from their bench as Rudy Fernandez and Al Harrington each scored 15 points while Danilo Gallinari and Timofey Mozgov combined for 26 points and 12 rebounds.
On the other hand, Wade hurt his right ankle in the last seven minutes of the fourth quarter and their chances of catching up with the Nuggets came down to 20 percent when he was not able to come back in the game. Wade finished with only 12 points in the game.
LeBron James may not be ranked no. 1 in the scoring when kobe Bryant managed to overtake him but LeBron is still the scoring leader of Miami. James scored 35 points and only had six assists in the game to lead the team. Chris Bosh had 17 points and 12 rebounds while Udonis Haslem and Norris Cole combined for 25 points off the bench for Miami.
“They just broke us down too many times, broke down our defense too many times and were able to get pretty much whatever they wanted,” said James.
The Heat now dropped down to 8-4 and is far away from Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Heat will take a rest to battle THE San Antonio Spurs this Tuesday while the Nuggets will try and demolish Utah Jazz on Sunday.
