Bobcats ends six game drought

CHARLOTTE, NC — When Kyrie Irving does his thing lifting the Cleveland Cavaliers as this season’s no. 1 draft pick, rookie Kemba Walker also had his time to shine as he recorded his career best 23 points as he together with Gerald Henderson who had 26 points led the Charlotte Bobcats to win against the Golden State Warriors and snap their six game losing streak.
Walker shot 8 of 15 in the field including two from behind the arc, he also had five assists and two steals making this his best performance in his career.
“I got a chance to play myself into a rhythm tonight and we picked the tempo up early. I wanted to come out and set the tone for us. We came out there and pushed the ball tonight. We wanted to get some easy baskets and get things going,” said Charlotte rookie guard Walker.
Byron Mullens had 20 points while D.J Augustin scored 16 to add the damage dealt to the Warriors.
“It was wonderful tonight to see the guys play and just run the court. We’ve talked about running all year and they did tonight. I thought the change tonight really helped us. Timing is the key to life. Putting Kemba in the starting lineup was the right thing. He’s ready,” said coach Charlotte coach Paul Silas.
On the other hand, with Stephen Curry unable to play with his injuries, David Lee and Monta Ellis continue to lead the Golden State Warriors. Lee led the Warriors in scoring and rebounding with 24 points and 16 boards while Ellis
came in second with 18 points. Nate Robinson who is a motivational character for the Warriors just had 12 points off the bench.
Coach Silas did make changes in the starting unit and it came out pretty effective for the Cats.
The Bobcats will battle Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers this Monday while the Warriors will be facing the Detroit pistons this Sunday.
