Majic’s late run helps them win against the Bobcats, 96-89

ORLANDO, FL — Dwight Howard looked good on Tuesday night as he scored a double double with as he tallied 25 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to beat the visiting Charlotte Bobcats by seven points 96-89, at the Amway Center.
Jameer Nelson had 17 points, Hedo Turkoglu scored 15, Ryan Anderson had 13 and Von Wafer came off the bench and added 13 for the Majic who had a fourth quarter surge to defeat the Bobcats.
It was pretty tight game where there are 10 lead changes and 11 times that both times are on a deadlock but the Majic’s three pointers in the fourth quarter gave them the “W” that they want.
“There are times when I’m on the court or on the bench and we’re playing and I say to myself, ‘This team has a chance to be the best we’ve been in my six years with the Magic.’ I think we’ve got a lot of experience, we have the best big guy in the league, the best and most dominant player and a lot of solid pieces around him,” said Magic guard J.J. Redick.
Wafer who only played 74 minutes in his entire life with the Majic came off the bench giving Majic 13 points for 5 of 8 shooting in 24 minutes, his prescence really made a big difference for Orlando.
On the other hand, Gerald Henderson led the Bobcats with his 22 points for 7 of 10 shooting and 8 of 10 in the free throw line. Kemba Walker was the second leading scorer for the Bobcats with 15 points and DJ Augustin added 13. Bismack Biyombo played a great role helping Byron Mullens guard Howard in the post, Biyombo had 11 points and 10 rebounds a double double for Charlotte.
“We defended Howard very well, and then we started going into the lane too much for help and they kicked the ball out for threes. And then they made three 3-point shots and that was the game right there,” said Charlotte coach Paul Silas.
Charlotte now lost for the eight time in nine games and dropped down to 3-12.
The Bobcats will meet with the Chicago Bulls on Saturday while the Majic will rest for a few days before facing the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
