New coach of the Wizards helps them rip off the Bobcats

WASHIGNTON, DC — In the battle of the worst team of the NBA season 2011-12, the Washington Wizards got their third win over the Charlotte Bobcats, 92-75, Wednesday at the Verizon Center.
Nick Young led the Wizards with 20 points and Andray Blatche added 17 points for them to win against the short handed Bobcats.
The Wizards got Randy Wittman as their new coach and it did end up with positive results as Wittman suddenly got his first victory as head coach of the Wizards.
Wittman made his team work on their defense and convert every opponent’s turnover into a basket and when his team initiated the plan it was all good as they easily beat the Bobcats.
“I can’t honestly say we needed a new voice. We just needed somebody to actually check us-like Wittman did. That’s what we needed.”
– Blatche on the coaching change.
It’s been a long time since the Bobcats lost their team leaders like DJ Augustin and Gerald Henderson who are unable to play because of their injuries.
Matt Carroll led the Bobcats with 17 points for 7 of 10 in the field. Tyrus Thomas and reserve Cory Higgins scored 13 points each while Derrick Brown added 10 points. Thomas was shy of a double double with only nine blocks.
The Bobcats will try to bounce back against the Philadelpia 76ers while the Wizards will meet up with the Houston Rockets for the second time around this Friday.
