Lakers takes revenge over Clippers,96-91

LOS ANGELES, CA — It’s another battle of the what so called LOB Angeles teams, the crosscourt rivals Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. The last time they met, the Clippers had the last laugh when Paul had a very good game, however this Wednesday night at the Staples Center the Lakers avenged their loss with a 96-91 win.
It was an intense battle between the rivals, the game was tough and was very physical.
Kobe Bryant led the Lakers by scoring 12 of his 24 points in the final stretch. Pau Gasol had a double double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Bynum scored 19 while Derek Fisher had 11. Andrew Goudelock came up huge from the bench and scored 14 points for the Lakers.
“We’re not going to score 110 points because we’re not a fast-paced team or a high-possession team, but 96 points on 49 percent [shooting] was an efficient night for us offensively,” said Lakers coach Mike Brown.
On the other hand, Blake Griffin finished a team-high 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the Clippers. Chris Paul was back in the game after missing five because of his injury, he ended with only four points in the game and 12 assists. Caron Butler and reserve Mo Williams each scored 16 points while DeAndre Jordan had 11 points in the game.
“A frustrating loss but it was good to get Chris out there. I thought we made them earn it at the end,” said Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro.
The Clippers will try to come back on Thursday against the Memphis Grizzlies while the Lakers will rest for awhile and engage the Milwuakee Bucks on Saturday.
