Bud gives Rockets a W without Martin

HOUSTON, TX — Chase Budinger was not able play three consecutive games but when Kevin Martin was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, Budinger had the urgency to step up and led Houston to a 103-76 victory over the Washington Wizards, Friday night at the Toyota Center Arena.
Budinger recorder his season high 21 points on 8 of 14 shooting including 4 of 6 in the field with eight rebounds.
“[Chase's performance] had nothing to do with anybody besides himself and making himself ready. That’s really impressive,” said Houston coach Kevin McHale on Budinger’s professionalism.
Luis Scola had 19 points with eight rebounds. Samuel Dalembert was superior in his defense he had 11 points in the night with three blocks. Jordan Hill came off the bench and notched a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
When the Wizards got closer to the Rockets with only two points 57-55 the home team blasted with a 21-7 run to make them out of reach.
The Wizards are not taking care of the ball as they committed 24 turnovers because they throw cross court passes without hesitation.
“We were our own worst enemies. We were throwing cross-court passes from one side of the floor to the other, and you can’t even get away with that in high school without a steal. We want to run, but we have to take care of the ball,” said Wizards coach Randy Wittman on Washington’s mental errors.
Joh Wall led the Wizards with 17 points for 6 of 13 shooting while Nick Young had 15 for 6 of 17 shooting. The Wizards still can’t find their range that they need to work out.
The Wizards will again meet the Charlotte Bobcats next while the Rockets will face the New York Knicks on Saturday.
