Bucks kicks Lakers, 100-89

MILWUAKEE, WI — The Milwuakee Bucks snapped their three game losing streak at home when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 100-89, Saturday night at the Bradley Center.

Six players of the Bucks are in double digits and this was one of the reasons why they defeated the Lakers.

“They came in with a ton of energy tonight and really picked up the building,” said Bucks coach Scott Skiles on his bench, which turned the game around late in the first and early in the second quarters.

Drew Gooden led the Bucks with 23 points and eight rebounds. Reserves Mike Dunleavy and Ersan Ilyasova each scored 15 points for 20 plus minutes. Brandon Jennings scored 12 points for 6 of 13 shooting. Shaun Livingston had 11 points while Luc Mbah a Moute added 10 points. With this team work the Lakers who are always run by a single person are no match.

“I’ve been working on that day-in and day-out, and the best thing I like about it is Coach is giving me the confidence to shoot it. Shooting percentages increase when you know you have the coach behind you and know that if you miss it you won’t come out of the game. So I have to thank my coach and my teammates for having the faith in me shooting that three, and it is helping our offense. It’s helping us spread the floor, and it’s helping us drive and penetrate and get it to the open man,” said Gooden, who has made a 3-pointer in four straight games after making just seven in the previous six seasons.

On the other hand, Kobe Bryant scored 27 points, had nine assists and eight rebounds to lead his crew. Andrew Bynum had 15 points and a shy of one rebound to have a double double. Pau Gasol had a double double with 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers but their efforts are not enough to match up with the home team.

The Lakers moves down to 11-9 as they battle the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday while the Bucks will meet up with the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
