Celtics rout Raptors, 100-64

BOSTON, MA — The starters of the Boston Celtics does not need to show off the court in the fourth quarter as they just let the reserves bring their A-game by finishing off the Toronto Raptors, 100-64, Wednesday night at the TD garden.
Captain Paul Pierce led the well balanced team with 17 points for 5 of 11 in the field including 3 of 4 behind the arc. Ray Allen was also 2 of 3 in the three point area as he tallied 12 points for 5 of 9 in the field.
Avery Bradley who started for the injured Rajon Rondo had 11 points for 5 of 6 in the field while reserve Brandon Bass scored 12 points for 4 of 8 shooting.
The top three in 3-point shooting team in the league showed how dominant they are behind the arc by raining threes on their opponent to go far the distance.
Boston ended with 52 percent field goals and 50 percent behind the arc compared to Torontos 34.2 percent shooting.
“It’s about time. We’ve gone through a lot; so has everyone else in the league. To start out slow like we did and get over that number — it’s good for us. We’ve just got to keep doing it,” said Doc Rivers on getting back above .500.
Jerrdy Bayless led the Raptors by having 14 points off the bench while Ed Davis had a double double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
This is indeed the worst loss of the Raptors this season and they keep on struggling in the Eastern Conference.
“You take it, you learn from it, and you build from it. You never want to feel that again because when teams in this league have an opportunity to step on your neck, they will do it. That’s what Boston did, and that’s what veterans teams are going to do,” said Dwane Casey on what the team takes out of the loss.
The Raptors will try to improve as they meet the Washington Wizards and the Celtics will battle one of their rivals the New York Knicks on Friday.
