Costly win for the Clippers on Monday night
ORLANDO, FL — Lob City Angeles or the Los Angeles Clippers visited the Orlando Majic for a duel and they were thriumpant in stealing the show infront of a massive 18,846 people in attendance at the Amway Center Arena on Monday night.
It was an exciting game that needs five minutes more of action since 48 minutes is not enough for both teams.
Majic and the Clippers went into overtime that is the time where Chris Paul displayed his tactics in the final stretch for them to start their six game road trip with a 2-0 standing.
We are in the middle of a six-game road trip. To start 2-0 and get a win like that against a good team like that is good for us and good for our confidence,” said Clippers forward Blake Griffin
Paul scored 29 points and dished out eight assists for the Clippers. Blake Griffin scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Chauncey Billups exited the game in the fourth quarter after helping the Clippers as much as eight points because of a torn left Achilles’ tendon. Billups ended with 18 points while Caron butler added 14 points for the Clips.
“I’m sick about it. Sick for us but mostly for him and how much he means to us. … He was in some pain, and whenever that happens when no one’s around, all the possibilities are out there,” said Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro on Billups’ Achilles’ tendon injury.
On the other hand, Hedo Turkoglo was of no use for the Majic as he missed all of his six shots and ended with a zero. Dwight Howard led all the scorers with 33 points and 14 rebounds. Jason Richardson missed a three point shot which could tie the game in overtime, he ended with 20 points.
Jameet Nelson who is back in the lineup after missing two games scored 15 points while Ryan Anderson added 10 points for the Majic who lost the game.
The Clippers will continue their road trip at Cleveland to face the Cavs while the Majic will host the big three of the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
