Wade scores 26 for Heat to win against Cavs

“The final score was not indicative about how competitive and close that game was. That team is improved. They play hard, they compete. They’re a tough team to put away. We did some things well on both ends of the court, but we did some things to allow them extra possessions to get back into the game,” said Erik Spoelstra.

Chris Bosh had 15 points and nine rebounds. Mario Chalmers and reserve Udonis Haslem each scored 14 points for the Heat.

On the other hand, Antawn Jamison had 25 points and nine rebounds to lead the Cavs. Alonzo Gee had 17 points for 6 of 11 shooting. Rookie Kyriew Irving scored 16 points while Anderson Varejao had a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Cavs had a very poor shooting night and their coach saw that they needed a lot of adjustments in their next game.

“Again, when you have Daniel Gibson, Anthony Parker and Tristan Thompson missing and then have to make adjustments on our starting unit, it makes a difference. Our second unit just couldn’t make a basket — they shot about 17 percent for the game,” said Cavs coach Byron Scott.

The Cavs will host the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday while the Heat will meet with the Orlando Majic on the same day.
