Schiavone ousts Stosur in Sydney

SYDNEY, NSW — Australian female tennis superstar Samantha Stosur came crashing down in the first round of the Sydney Internatinal on Monday.
Frascesca Schiavone the conqueror of Stosur in 2010′s French Open final was the one responsible for Stosur’s early exit following her second round loss against Czech Iveta Benesova in the Brisbane International.
It was another humiliating loss for the US Open champion when she was pounded badly by her Italian nemesis infronf of her fellow Australians.
It took only an hour and 30 minutes for Schiavone to dispose of the US Open champion in straight sets, 6-2 6-4.
The Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne is a week ago and Stosur just can’t let her positivity down and try to make up with her devastating losses.
“That’s what makes it so difficult. Melbourne is coming up and I want to start playing well,” Stosur said.
“Being in Australia and playing in Australia, I want to play the best I can play and do it all here this month, right here right now.
“Then when it doesn’t happen, it’s obviously disappointing. It probably makes it more disappointing here than anywhere else.”
On the other hand, Schiavone will enter the second round and battle against Daniela Hantuchova, who downed Roberta Vinci 7-5, 6-2.
“It is really disappointing when you had a great game last season and now you are stumbling down. Even though you win something big in the past you will be haunted by pressure because you wanted to do something big again in the present,” said Melody Barnes.
“Samantha Stosur needs to rest up little bit, regain mental toughness and play it cool in the Australian Open so she can survive,” said Mary Jane Tyler.
