Venus Williams withdraws from Aussie Open 2012

Former world number one pulled out of the because of her health issues.

The Aussie Open is just a few days to go from now and everybody is really geting ready for action by joining warm up tournaments. However the 31 year old American have some serious injuries that she is concentrating on healing.

Venus hasn’t played a competitive match since her retirement in last year’s US Open after being diagnosed with some called Sjorgen’s Syndrome, an auto-immune disease.

If she will be in the match, there will be a possibility that she will move to the last 16 or the last eight depending on her condition. Her sister Serena also withdrew in the Brisbane International but she will be competing in the Open this year.

Venus announced her withdrawal in her website on Monday, she said:

“I regret to announce that I am withdrawing from the 2012 Australian Open.

“After several months of training and treatment, I am making steady progress to top competitive form.
“My diet and fitness regimen have allowed me to make great strides in terms of my health and I am very close to being ready to return to competition.

“I have every intention to return to the circuit in February.”

“The former no.1 is in a bad shape today and those who are fans of the Williams’ sister continue praying for their health,” said Pamela Gomez

“She is a great player along with her sister Serena however don’t you think it is time to retire and just stay home?” — Hubert Dunleavy from Oklahoma.
